We are A Positive Approach To Teen Health

a not-for-profit organization located in Northwest Indiana

Through our funding from big-hearted donors and various grants including Office of Population Affairs and Family & Youth Services Bureau, we are able to impact thousands of teens from the rural areas in Newton County to the cities in Lake County. In fact, we directly serve in our collaborative partners in nine counties across the state. Additionally, we partner with other youth serving organizations across the nation providing evidence-based curricula and training on various topics including teen pregnancy and suicide prevention.  Our specialty is to equip, empower, and encourage teens by engaging them in informative and interactive classroom sessions designed to bring medically accurate and relevant facts about real-time issues … such as health information relating to relationships, addictions, social interactions, as well as benefits of doing well in school and related activities.

We are able to reach these teens through several programs: Positive Potential, which is PATH’s evidence-based curricula (developed by our education staff), Horizon and reMIX are our more urban counterparts.  Our newest program is the Peer 2 Peer Mentoring program RELENTLESS.  Relentless is designed for upperclassmen to mentor freshmen as they transition into the life of a high school student.  Through these unique programs, we feel we are able to reach a well
diversified group of teens, who face similar yet distinct issues in life.

In addition to in-school programming, we have an after-school mentoring program called LivTrue.   We are always seeking volunteer mentors to share in the lives of students who need encouragement and support.  If you are interested in helping, whether through donating your time by volunteering (please complete our VOLUNTEER FORM) or by supporting our programming financially (please go to our DONATE PAGE). We appreciate your support.
